La bicicletta di Einstein
The physics of bicycle riding lends itself to simple discussions that might be useful for teaching. The article offers two examples on curving. The first example concerns the relationship between the radius of the curve, the angle the handle bar is turned and the length of the bike. As a matter of fact, when curving the length of the bike is a factor of stability. The second concerns the relationship between the radius of the curve and the speed of the bike. The inspiration came from a picture of Albert Einstein on a bicycle: what was his speed when the picture was taken?
