Il computer come sistema di acquisizione dati

The aim of this article is to contribute to the study of the problems related to the on-line use of the computer in the Physics Laboratory. Differences between traditional lab-activities and on-line computer based lab-activities will be illustrated by describing the use of a Data Acquisition System (DAS) for the analog quantities and time intervals. Three types of signal conditioning circuits will be described which correspond to the more commonly used kinds of transducers: current source transducers, voltage source transducers and varying resistance transducers. As far as time interval acquisition by on-off transducers is concerned the use of the Game Port and different time measuring methods will be discussed.
