2012 is the ‘International Year of Sustainable Energy for all’ but most of the energy we use comes from fossil fuels. We know that increasing the amount of CO2 in the lower atmosphere can trap infrared radiation, increasing its temperature. Climate change has always been a result of natural causes, so is now the higher temperature really due to human activities? This paper discusses how science faces this problem and what answers have been found.
