A Caccia di Spettri I. Costruiamo uno Spettroscopio con uno Smartphone

Home-made spectrometers, based on the use of inexpensive diffraction gratings and a smartphone camera, can be assembled and employed to perform quantitative measurements of spectra from different sources with surprising accuracy. In this paper, we describe some different home-made spectrometers and discuss the calibration procedures and other technical details to perform the measurements. Additionally, we analyse some characteristics of the home-made spectrometers as measuring instruments.
